You can do it!

I want to share with everyone that my grandma just got back from a month in Africa and she is 78 years old.  She took this trip with one other friend and visited Namibia and South Africa.  They visited rural parts of Africa where the children had never seen a person like her before.  She is absolutely amazing!  I will have to get her to tell some of her travel stories... they are hilarious!  She is also on a tight budget.  So... for all of you who don't think you can do it... you can!  Start small, do the research, ask advice on the site, save that money and in no time you may find yourself in Africa too... or at least San Francisco (one of my favorite Great Girl Trips destinations)!  Happy wanderings.

"When an old person dies....a library is lost".    Questions, pictures, memories....such a great trip deserves to be put in scrap book or slide show to remind her, in later years, of her great adventure.   It is those memories outside our family duties..... to remind us life was fun and well lived.

I have a great aunt...well since passed, that wrote a poetic journal with pictures of a girls trip she was invited on.  I have her journal and will be presenting it as a book this year.  Can you imagine...five librarians renting a cabin in 1918 for a "girls trip" of hiking the local mountains for three days.  Just a really interesting read and the pictures are amazing.  Yes, even in 1918 the "girls" liked adventure.  This is not a new thing.  So just do it.
